Goals From Seniors Noh And Mes Lead Lehigh To Senior Day Win Over Rider

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh celebrated its six-member senior class Sunday against Rider with two of the six seniors scoring goals in a 2-1 Mountain Hawk victory over the Broncs at Ulrich Field. Senior Kiki Mes scored the game-winner with 7:24 remaining in regulation to help Lehigh pick up its fourth win of the season.
The first 30 minutes were scoreless, with Rider having a slim 7-6 edge in shots at the break.
Lehigh went in front 6:35 into the second half with junior Aubrey Ide dribbling in from the right side and centering to senior Madison Noh, who netted her third goal of the season to give the Mountain Hawks a 1-0 lead.
Rider (7-8) tied the game nearly three minutes later off a penalty corner as Megan Normile scored off a pass from Valeria Perales.
The game remained tied 1-1 into the fourth quarter when Mes ran onto a loose ball, dribbled into the circle and fired into the cage for her fifth goal of the season.
Rider pulled goalkeeper Jade Regnart for the final six-plus minutes for an extra attacker, but the Broncs were unable to find the equalizer.
Junior goalkeeper Kate Burgess made five saves for Lehigh, while junior Georgia Reynolds made a defensive save late in the first half to keep the game scoreless at halftime.
Shots favored Rider by a 15-13 margin, while corners were even at 11-11.
In addition to Noh and Mes, Lehigh seniors honored prior to the game were Maddie Kandra, Lela Boermeester, KK Sauve and Zoe Day.
The Mountain Hawks will close out the regular season on Saturday when they visit Bucknell for a 1 p.m. contest.
