D1 Holds Strong, Defeats Canisius 6-5

After a wild back and forth game, the D1 team found the net with two minutes left on Friday to take game one of the weekend series 6-5. Canisius battled back to tie the game with two third-period goals, but Ferdinand Burghart scored his third of the game less than a minute after the game-tying goal to seal the win. Zach Gruber added three assists, while Matthew Nacinovich provided two helpers. The Mountain Hawks hope to claim victory again Saturday night at 8:15 pm to take the sweep.
