BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh women's tennis hosted the Patriot League's best this weekend at the ITA Patriot League Masters Tournament from Lehigh's Ulrich Varsity Tennis Courts. Junior Maggie Forkner punched her ticket to the ITA Conference Masters Championships in San Diego by winning the singles tournament.
"Maggie competed with incredible grit and composure all weekend," said head coach Sophia Geier. "She faced some high-level opponents and continued to raise her level with each match. Winning the Patriot League Masters and qualifying for ITA Masters in San Diego is a huge accomplishment and a testament to her hard work and competitive spirit. I'm so proud of how she represented Lehigh and can't wait to see her compete on the national stage in two weeks."
The ITA Patriot League Masters Tournament is comprised of two student-athletes, male and female, from each member institution. The winners of the singles and doubles brackets get a chance to compete at a national tournament in San Diego from November 6-9.

Both Mountain Hawk student-athletes received byes in the round of 32 in the singles bracket on Friday. Forkner won her round of 16 bout against Bucknell's Riley Jennings 6-0, 6-2 while Dogadalski fell in two sets against Bucknell's Abigail Platt.
Forkner and Dogadalski received a bye in the first round of doubles play, sending them to the quarterfinals. The pair earned an 8-3 win over Amelia Galin and Rebecca Hess of Colgate to advance to Saturday's semifinals.
Saturday kicked off for the Mountain Hawks with Forkner's singles quarterfinal match against Loyola Maryland's Christine Richiez, which Forkner won 6-1, 6-0. In the semifinals, Forkner upset first-seeded Jiayi Liu of Boston University in a three-set thriller to advance to Sunday's finals. In the doubles semifinals, Forkner and Dogadalski defeated BU's Liu and Blanka DeMicheli 8-6 to advance to the finals.
Forkner faced off against BU's Ellie Gyuro in the singles finals. Forkner pulled ahead with a narrow 7-6 (7-5) win in set one before defeating Gyuro 7-5 in set two to seal the deal.
