The Ice Hockey Team traveled to Maryland to play the University of Maryland and the Naval Academy. The Lehigh roster was extremely light due to many injuries. Sean McGowan was the net minder and he played great facing 36 shots and making 32 saves.
Maryland scored first on the power play knocking in a loose puck in front of the net. Maryland scored again with 2 minutes remaining in the period to go into the locker room with a 2-0 lead.
Lehigh got on the board when Jake Kurz tipped in a shot from Will Kazel. Lehigh thought they had a tying goal when Jason Langevin blew a shot past the Maryland goalie, but the referee had called a penalty against Lehigh away from the play and nullified the goal. The second period ended at 2-1.
In the third period, Kurz found himself 2 on 1 with Keith Calvaruso. He fed a pass through the Maryland defender and Calvaruso made it count to tie the game at 2-2. Jake Levine started the play and received the second assist. Maryland took the lead soon after and added a power play goal to win the game 4-2 against a tired Lehigh team.
