ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The four-member freshman class led the way for the Lehigh women's tennis team as the Mountain Hawks opened their fall schedule at the Bill & Sandra Moore Invitational, which wrapped up Sunday at Navy's Brigade Sports Complex. Eight Mountain Hawks saw action over the three-day event, including all four Lehigh freshmen, who combined for all four of Lehigh's singles wins on the weekend.

Freshman Christina Auyeung led the way for Lehigh, reaching the quarterfinals in the A singles flight. After a first round bye, Auyeung defeated Lucy Williams of Towson in a third set super tiebreak in the second round to move into the quarters, where she fell in a super tiebreak to Alex Huie of James Madison.

At the D flight, freshman Kristin Godau won her first match in a third set super tiebreak before falling in the quarterfinals. Following a first round bye, freshman Abby Duddy lost her opening round match to Claudia Mackenzie of Navy in straight sets but rallied in the consolations, winning two matches over opponents from Saint Bonaventure and Loyola, before conceding a walkover in the consolation final.

All four of Lehigh's upperclass players went 0-2 in singles. Sophomore Cassidy Cruz played A singles with Auyeung. Senior captain Abby Farrell played B singles with freshman Briana Maravich. Sophomores Jamie Campisi and Jess Graham represented the Mountain Hawks in C singles.

Lehigh teams fared better in doubles play with two Mountain Hawk teams making the semifinals. In the A doubles flight Auyeung and Campisi won two matches to reach the semis before falling to a team from James Madison. Graham and Maravich also played A doubles and went 0-1 after a first round bye.

Veterans Farrell and Cruz teamed for two wins at B doubles, reaching the semifinals before bowing out against a tough team from Navy. Duddy and Godau also saw time at B doubles for the Mountain Hawks.
