Mountain Hawks conclude weekend with 3-0 loss

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Things could not have been more different in the second meeting between Lehigh and Navy on Saturday afternoon.  In the first meeting, it took five games and a late Navy comeback for the Midshipmen to walk away from the Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall with a 3-2 victory.  In the second meeting, Navy only need three games as the Mids defeated the Mountain Hawks 3-0 at Macdonough Hall.  Game scores were 30-26, 30-21, and 30-22.

 

Lehigh, 0-23 overall and 0-8 in league play, was led by senior Michelle Schwendennman, who recorded her seventh double-double of the season and her sixth in league play.  Schwendenmann had a match-high 13 kills and 10 digs as well as a team-best three block assists.  Freshmen Mo McReynolds and Lindsay Brown each recorded two service aces, while classmate Sarah Wolfe had 28 assists.  Senior Cassidy Maumus registered a match-high 11 digs.

 

Jessie Sims was the offensive power for the Midshipmen as she had a team-best 10 kills and match-best .450 hitting percentage.  Kim Koss put up a match-high 31 assists.

 

The Mountain Hawks continues its streak of road matches on Friday night when they take on Colgate.  Match time is set for 7:00 pm.
