Chavarr Warren is in his third season as Lehigh’s running backs coach.
The 2024 season saw Warren work with a stable of backs that played a major role in Lehigh’s championship campaign. The Mountain Hawks led the Patriot League and ranked 12th nationally, averaging 201.9 yards per game on the ground. Sophomore Luke Yoder and first-year Jaden Green both earned All-Patriot League honors, combining for 1,791 yards and 20 touchdowns on the ground. Green gave Lehigh a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award, given to the nation’s top first-year player, for the second consecutive season. Sophomore Connor Hilling and first-year Aaron Crossley also scored their first career touchdowns in 2024.
In his first season, Warren oversaw a stable of runners that helped Lehigh eclipse the 100-yard rushing mark in its final seven games. Yoder led the way 644 yards and five touchdowns and was a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award.
Warren came to Bethlehem following two seasons as a wide receivers coach and graduate assistant at Northwest Oklahoma State University in Alva, Okla.
Warren joined the coaching staff of Northwest Oklahoma State after three years working with the football program at Temple University, first as a student equipment manager and operations manager and then as a student manager primarily assisting the wide receivers coach.
Warren is an active military officer of the Pennsylvania National Guard, where he has served since 2013.
He also spent seven years working as an athletic coordinator for the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
A 2020 graduate of Temple with a degree in sports and recreation management, Warren added a master’s of education with a concentration in adult education and sports administration in December 2022.
