BETHLEHEM Pa. - Lehigh men's swimming and diving faced off against Patriot League rival Colgate at Jacobs Pool on Friday night. The Mountain Hawks defeated the Raiders, 172-69 for their third straight win at home. Lehigh had a terrific day in the pool, winning ten of the eleven swimming events and sweeping the podium in half of them.

The short-distance freestyle events were dominated by sophomores. Jack Deppe won both the 200-yard and 100-yard freestyles. The sophomore swam 1:43.06 over 200 and 47.12 over 100. Chase Bearley, Davis Woerner, and Will Moon were right on Deppe's tail in both races. Moon finished 1:43.41 in the 200 to place second, while Bearley (2nd) and Woerner (3rd) followed in 47.16 and 47.28 over 100. Bearley got his chance and stole the show in the 50-yard freestyle, winning in 21.21. Woerner was again right behind coming second (21.53), and senior Aaron Williams placed third (22.05).

Mountain Hawks took all three top podium positions in the longest-distance event of the night. Senior Alfredo Figueroa Sedano won the 1000-yard freestyle, hitting the wall at 9:56.64. Junior Owen Higinbotham hit just behind him in second (9:58.00), and first-year Christian McAuley came third (10:05.12).

A pair of first-years were in control in the 200-yard butterfly and 200-yard breaststroke. Spencer Cambell won the butterfly, swimming 1:56.37, and Braeden Roach swam 1:57.49 to place second. Andrew Takach was victorious in the 200 backstroke, as he finished in 2:07.08.

Takach also made the podium in the 200-yard individual medley, but it was sophomore Jared Rabadam who won that event. Rabadam swam 1:57.30 to win that event, edging out Takach, who swam 1:57.30.

Lehigh took full control of the 200-yard backstroke as well. Sophomore Tristan Ronayne won the event in 1:52.88, while first-year TJ Hayes (1:54.56) and senior Ben Kisker (1:54.77)  followed in second and third.

Jack Grotke had a solid day in the diving events. The graduate student placed third in the one-meter dive, scoring a season-high 193.95 points. He placed fourth in the three-meter dive, scoring 149.40.

The Mountain Hawks also placed first in both relay events. The group of Kisker, Campbell, Bearley, and Spencer Ridge opened the competition swimming 3:28.55 to win the 400-yard medley relay. The meet was walked-off by the squad of Deppe, Roach, Williams, and Woerner, who won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:23.98.

"It has been three weeks of intense training and extremely strong efforts racing each week," said head coach Rob Herb. "We are in a good place and expectations are high."

Lehigh gets a week off before heading back on the road. The Mountain Hawks will travel to South Orange, N.J. on November 7 to face off against Seton Hall.
