Lehigh falls to Army West Point, 4-0 in Patriot League quarterfinals

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Lehigh women's tennis team's 2019 season concluded on Friday afternoon, as the Mountain Hawks fell to Army West Point in the Patriot League quarterfinals, 4-0. Lehigh finishes the year with an 8-11 overall record and a 3-4 league record.
The Black Knights swept the docket against Lehigh as Elizabeth Nowak and Casey Zhong fell 6-4 in the second flight, while Grace Lin and Leigh Friedman fell as the third flight in doubles for Army to claim the doubles point.
Paula Gonzalez fell 6-2, 6-0 in No. 2 singles, followed by Catherine Meighan losing 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 6 match, while senior Grace Lin was bested, 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 5 singles. The wins ended up giving the singles points to the Black Knights, which proved to be the end of Lehigh, allowing Army to advance on to the Patriot League Semifinals.
All-in-all, the Mountain Hawks had a successful end of the season, finishing the regular season campaign with three consecutive victories, including a big shutout win over archrival Lafayette, 7-0 on Tuesday.
