Hua picks up first win, but Mountain Hawks fall to Boston University

STAMFORD, Conn. – The Lehigh women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 final to Boston University on Friday, but there was a big bright spot as freshman Sarah Hua picked up her first-career win coming in her first collegiate action. She picked up a hard-fought 6-4, 3-6, 10-5 victory at No. 6 singles. Friday's match was played at a neutral site, in Samford, Connecticut.
Boston University took Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to pick up the doubles point. For Lehigh, sophomore Casey Zhong and freshman Elizabeth Nowak were in the midst of a battle at No. 1 (trailing 4-3), but the match didn't finish since the Terriers had already captured the doubles point.
Boston University was strong in singles, winning Nos. 1 through 5 in straight sets. Sophomore Paula Gonzalez and Nowak both lost 6-4 in competitive second sets. Hua wrapped up the evening with her three-set victory.
The Mountain Hawks have a quick turnaround as they host Patriot League foe Navy on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Lewis Tennis Center.
