
Lehigh Continues Virginia Swing at William & Mary

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks are set for the fifth leg of their eight-game road trip through Virginia as they travel to William & Mary on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. Live stats and live video will both be available for Wednesday's contest. Â

Lehigh (6-8) is coming off a Sunday doubleheader sweep at Norfolk State to earn a series split in a four-game set against the Spartans. The Mountain Hawks have been finding a groove lately as they are 4-3 in the month of March with all seven games played on the road.

In the last seven games, Chris Kersey is hitting a team-leading .400 (10-for-25) and paces the team with a .467 on-base percentage during that stretch. Mike Maguire is tied with Kersey for the team lead with 10 hits as he owns a .385 batting average in March. Ryan Malloy leads the team in RBI (10) and slugging percentage (.750) in the current month, while also hitting .300 during that span.

The Lehigh pitching staff has compiled a collective 3.21 ERA in 56.0 innings of work in the month of March. Starters Levi Stoudt and Jason Reynolds have combined for just three earned runs in 22.1 innings through four combined starts. The bullpen has also been stellar as six relievers have combined for three saves and just five earned runs allowed in a total of nine appearances.

Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention honoree Hunter Smith has been the most productive bat in the Tribe lineup this season as he leads the team with 17 hits, two home runs, 11 RBI and a .400 slugging percentage. Smith's .262 batting average ranks second behind Zach Perason's .270 average, who is tied with Smith for the team lead in hits (17), while pacing the team in runs scored (10).

As a team, William & Mary ranks last in the CAA in batting average (.206), slugging percentage (.280) and on-base percentage (.276) on the year. The Tribe pitching staff ranks seventh with a 4.59 ERA on the season to go along with a .256 opponent batting average.
