Lehigh women finish strong at first Lehigh Fall Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's tennis team hosted the first of two Lehigh Fall Invitational tournaments this weekend on the Goodman Campus. The Mountain Hawks squared off against Patriot League power Army on Friday, competed in doubles against Bucknell and Temple on Saturday and wrapped-up the weekend with singles matches against Temple and Loyola on Sunday.
On Friday, the Mountain Hawks struggled against the nine-time defending Patriot League Champion Black Knights, dropping four doubles matches and eight singles matches.
Lehigh dropped three doubles matches against Temple on Saturday but rebounded to split four doubles matches with Bucknell. Junior Abby Farrell and sophomore Ali Kaminetsky posted a win at the second flight, while freshmen Nina Larraza and Jess Graham posted a win at the fourth flight.
On the final day of competition, Lehigh dropped six singles matches to Temple, but closed out the event on a high note winning five of eight singles matches against league newcomer Loyola. Senior Jenai Bilimora posted a straight set win at the top flight, while Farrell, Graham, freshman Cassidy Cruz and sophomore Marian Prim also posted singles wins against the Greyhounds.
