Mountain Hawks back on track with win over King's

The two teams battled in a scoreless deadlock into the bottom of the seventh inning. With two outs and nobody aboard, first baseman Forrest Doane belted a solo homer to left – his fourth of the season – to give the Mountain Hawks a slim one-run advantage.
In the bottom of the eighth, Lehigh distanced itself from King’s as the Mountain Hawks plated three. Catcher Matt McBride drew a bases loaded walk to give Lehigh a 2-0 lead. With the sacks still full, Doane walked to drive in his second run of the contest, and then, after a pitching change, left fielder Andrew Smith was hit by a pitch to give Lehigh the 4-0 lead.
Right fielder Jeff Baker added two hits in the victory. Freshman Joel Hockman got the start on the mound, striking out two over two innings of work. Seven different Lehigh pitchers pitched a scoreless inning each in the win. Chris Postlewait, who pitched a scoreless seventh, earned his first victory of the season. His record now stands at 1-0.
Lehigh is back in action Saturday, when the Mountain Hawks host Patriot League foe Holy Cross at Goodman Field in a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for
