The Lehigh women’s lacrosse team will take its 4-0 record and head to Lewisburg on Friday evening as the Mountain Hawks open the 2010 Patriot League schedule versus the Bucknell Bison.  Lehigh was last in action on Tuesday afternoon when the Brown and White raced out to a 7-0 lead on Le Moyne and held off a second-half rally by the Dolphins to earn a 14-8 victory.  Freshman ML DiNisco received her first start in goal for the Mountain Hawks and sent back nine shots in 42 minutes of play, while sophomore Kelly Draper and junior Lauren Dykstra led the offense with four goals apiece.

Lehigh jumped out to a 9-1 halftime lead on Le Moyne and held off a second half rally as the Mountain Hawks downed the Dolphins 14-8 at the Ulrich Sports Complex on Tuesday afternoon.  Sophomore Kelly Draper and junior Lauren Dykstra scored four goal apiece, while senior Inneke Carmola handed out three assists as Lehigh remains unbeaten at 4-0 on the season.  Three Dolphins scored two goals in the game as the visitors fall to 0-3 following the loss.

Lehigh returns home for the first time since February 20 when the Mountain Hawks play host to Le Moyne on Tuesday afternoon at the Ulrich Sports Complex.  Lehigh has won all three of its games this season, including back-to-back come-from-behind wins on the road.  The Mountain Hawks were last in action on Saturday afternoon when they went to Philadelphia and scored a 9-7 victory over Saint Joseph’s. Senior Inneke Carmola led the Brown and White with three goals, while junior Lauren Dykstra found the back of the net twice.

Sophomore Leigh Ann Torcivia was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday.  Torcivia won four draw controls and scooped up three ground balls in Lehigh’s 9-7 come-from-behind win over Saint Joseph’s this past weekend.  The New Jersey native gives Lehigh a league award winner in two straight weeks after Lauren Dykstra was named the Defensive Player of the Week last Monday.

For the second straight game Lehigh overcame an early deficit and rallied to win as the Mountain Hawks downed Saint Joseph’s 9-7 on Saturday afternoon to remain unbeaten on the season at 3-0.  Lehigh trailed the Hawks 4-1 with 14 minutes to play in the first half but from there the Brown and White outscored its opponent 8-3 to earn its second straight road win.  Senior Inneke Carmola led the Mountain Hawks with three goals while junior Lauren Dykstra found the back of the net twice.  Saint Joseph’s, which received three goals apiece from Jenna Martino and Grace Dinn, falls to 2-3 following the setback.
