Lehigh picked third in preseason poll, Torcivia Defensive Player of the Year

The Lehigh women’s lacrosse team was picked third in the Patriot League preseason poll announced Thursday while senior Leigh Ann Torcivia earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. Led by co-captains Torcivia and junior Julie McBrien, the Mountain Hawks are looking to make their sixth straight Patriot League Tournament in 2012.

Lehigh wraps up first week of preseason practice

The Lehigh women’s lacrosse team is wrapping up its first week of practice in preparation for its season opener on Feb. 18 vs. Marist. The Mountain Hawks began practice Monday, focusing on fundamentals as a young squad continues to improve and progress. Despite losing the Patriot League’s All-Time leading scorer in Lauren Dykstra, Lehigh returns a plethora of talent.

Lehigh women’s lax to host winter clinic on Jan. 22

The Lehigh women’s lacrosse team is hosting a winter clinic on Sunday, Jan. 22 which features Drill the Skill 3v3 and a Specialized Goalkeeping Tournament. The clinic will run from 12 to 3 p.m. in Rauch Fieldhouse on Lehigh’s Goodman Campus and is open to girls lacrosse players in grades 9-12.

Redfern unveils 2012 Lehigh women’s lacrosse schedule

Lehigh head women’s lacrosse coach Jill Redfern announced the Mountain Hawks’ 2012 schedule on Tuesday, which includes marquee nonleague games against National Semifinalist North Carolina and in-state rival Penn State. The Mountain Hawks will play 16 regular season contests - nine at home, including the last four games of the regular season.
