For the first time this season two Lehigh track and field student-athletes were recognized by the Patriot League in the same week. Senior Ashlee Atwell was named the Female Field Athlete of the Week for the second straight time and freshman Alyssa Donahue was named Female Rookie of the Week on Tuesday.

For the first time since January 23 Lehigh will play a game at Stabler Arena as the Mountain Hawks welcome the Navy Midshipmen to town on Wednesday evening.  Lehigh is coming off a three-game road trip in which the Brown and White went 2-1, including a 77-65 victory over American this past weekend in Washington, D.C.  Senior Zahir Carrington scored a team-high 20 points, while freshman C.J. McCollum notched his first career double-double with 19 points and a season best 13 rebounds as the Mountain Hawks took over sole possession of first place in the Patriot League.  Navy has won three of its past four games, including an 81-79 decision over Bucknell on Friday evening in Annapolis.

Lehigh will hit the road for consecutive games beginning with Navy Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. from Alumni Hall. The Mountain Hawks will look to win their eighth straight game after moving into a first place tie with American this past Saturday. The Brown and White defeated the Eagles 53-46 with a strong defensive performance. Tricia Smith had a game-high seven rebounds and held the Patriot League’s leading scorer Michelle Kirk to only six points. Navy comes into Wednesday after picking up a 61-46 victory over Bucknell last Saturday. The Midshipmen are currently in third place in the league standings (4-4) and will be looking to end their five game losing streak to Lehigh.

It took four tries, but the Lehigh men’s tennis team picked up its first win of the spring season with an impressive 6-1 victory over Boston University Saturday afternoon at the Track and Tennis Center. After playing well in a loss to Brown Friday night, Lehigh continued its solid overall play, winning two doubles matches and five of the six singles matches as the Mountain Hawks improve to 1-3 on the spring season.
