Locked in an 11-11 tie after six bouts, No. 14 Lehigh won the final four bouts of the evening to defeat No. 21 Central Michigan 23-11 Friday night at McGuirk Arena. Decisions by freshman Nate Brown and junior Robert Hamlin staked the Mountain Hawks to a six point lead, while senior Kadeem Samuels clinched Lehigh’s fourth straight win with a 10-4 decision at 197.
The Lehigh men’s basketball team wraps up the first round of Patriot League play on Sunday when it welcomes Army to Stabler Arena for a special Coaches vs. Cancer Game. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. The Mountain Hawks will be participating in Suits and Sneakers Awareness Weekend to raise funds and awareness for the fight against cancer.
The Lehigh women’s basketball team (12-8, 5-1 PL) has won four straight Patriot League games and will look to keep the winning streak going Sunday when the Mountain Hawks travel to face Army (9-12, 3-3 PL) at 1:00 p.m. The game will mark the halfway point in League play as the Mountain Hawks sit in sole possession of second place, two games ahead of the Black Knights who are tied for fourth.
The Lehigh men’s and women’s track and field teams will host Lafayette Saturday in a dual meet at Rauch Fieldhouse that is set to begin at 2 p.m. Both Lehigh teams are coming off victories at the Mountain Hawk Invite last week which was highlighted by a pair of broken school records. At last year's dual meet vs. the Leopards, the men’s team won 107-74 while the women’s team won 101-80.
