Lehigh head coach Jenny Maurer announced the Mountain Hawks volleyball class of 2013 on Thursday, which includes three incoming student-athletes.  The list includes Margy Acton, a defensive specialist from Elmhurst, Illinois, Taylor Poole, a middle hitter from Keller, Texas, and Manon Palandjian, a hitter from Boston, Massachusetts.

For Rochelle Healea, Lehigh was a time in which she found love on and off of the volleyball court.  A dominating outside hitter for the Lehigh Volleyball Team, Rochelle spent her tenure at Lehigh fostering a love for volleyball, a Chemical Engineering major, and with her future husband, Patrick Sheridan.  Rochelle and Patrick met at Lehigh and currently have a one-month-old daughter named Gabrielle.

There is a lovely rain slash snow falling as I write this entry. I’m a little sad that there is snow on the ground again because not only has it been a bit warmer here in Bethlehem, I haven’t had to worry about slipping and falling on my face (which I’ve done at least three times this semester.) Last weekend was quite the exciting weekend for me personally. For the past 5 months I’ve been gearing up and rehearsing for The Vagina Monologues.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Ok, I know I’m about 39 days late…but I’m going to need ya’ll to cut me a break…it has been a verrrry busy month up here with the beginning of spring season! That being said, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season, and have successfully adhered to their new years resolutions. I don’t blame you if that hasn’t exactly happened given that one of my resolutions was to update this blog regularly starting day one of preseason ( 23 days ago) woopsies!

Two Lehigh volleyball players earned a place on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll on Tuesday. Maxie McCoy and Brittany Reichwein represented the Mountain Hawks on the list of 44 players earning academic and athletic distinction. McCoy was one of just five Patriot League volleyball players to post a 4.0 GPA in the fall semester. The junior journalism major also was named the Lehigh volleyball team’s Scholar Athlete of the Year this season. Reichwein earned a 3.81 GPA in her first semester with the Mountain Hawks. The freshman accounting major appeared in 14 matches, starting seven for the Brown and White.
