After winning three out of four matches last weekend, the Lehigh women’s volleyball team will look to continue their winning ways this weekend at the Sacred Heart Invitational in Fairfield, Conn. The Mountain Hawks are scheduled to face Sacred Heart on Friday night and Jacksonville and Dartmouth the following day.
Freshman Courtney McCutchan of the Lehigh volleyball team was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Monday, as announced by the league office. McCutchan was instrumental in the Mountain Hawks’ three victories over the weekend, posting two double-doubles and 11 or more digs in each of her last three matches at the Courtyard by Marriott Invitational in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Lehigh volleyball team earned a pair of victories over Robert Morris and Radford on Saturday to wrap up the Courtyard by Marriott Invitational with a 3-1 record. Junior Angelika Kopacz paced the team with a double-double in both matches as the Mountain Hawks finished the tournament on a three-match winning streak.
The Lehigh volleyball team defeated St. Francis (Pa.), 3-1, to earn a split on Friday in the Courtyard by Marriott Invitational in Pittsburgh, Pa. Junior Angelika Kopacz notched a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs to lift the Mountain Hawks to their first victory of the season. Earlier in the day, Lehigh fell to Duquesne in the tournament opener by a 3-0 count.
The Lehigh volleyball team was pegged to finish fourth in the Patriot League, as announced by the league in its annual preseason poll on Thursday. The Mountain Hawks garnered 62 votes in the poll, which was voted on by the league’s coaches and sports information directors.
