The Patriot League announced the 2009 men’s lacrosse academic honor roll on Thursday and Lehigh placed eight student-athletes on the list.  Junior Evan Guerrero led the Mountain Hawks with a 3.81 grade point average, as 97 men’s lacrosse student-athletes from around the Patriot League earned honor roll accolades.  To be eligible for the honor roll, a student-athlete must obtain at least a 3.2 GPA and earn a varsity letter in his or her sport.

The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse featuring Lehigh head coach Kevin Cassese will appear on national television on Thursday, June 25 as they play host to the Toronto Nationals beginning at 7:00.  The contest will be carried on ESPN2 as the Cannons look to extend their two-game win streak.  Boston was last in action on June 19 when it defeated Washington by a score of 19-9.

Lehigh head coach Kevin Cassese is one of 40 players who have qualified for the 2010 U.S. men’s national training team following a three-day tryout at Bryant University this week.  Cassese was notified on Wednesday afternoon that he had been selected to compete in three training weekends during the fall of 2009.  Following those three weekends, the roster will be cut to the FIL-mandated size of 23 players for the 2010 FIL World Championship in Manchester, England.

Lehigh head coach Kevin Cassese arrived on the campus of Bryant University late Sunday evening as he gets set to tryout for the 2010 United States Men’s Lacrosse Team.  The players gathered for their first meeting at 10:00 PM on Sunday and then it was off to bed.  On Tuesday evening, Coach Cassese checked in with his latest entry.

Smith Family Head Lacrosse Coach Kevin Cassese is set for what figures to be an exciting and tiring stretch of six days, beginning on Friday evening when he heads to Hofstra University on Long Island to compete for the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse.  Cassese and his teammates will take on the Long Island Lizards and look to avenge a season opening loss to the Lizards last month.  Following Friday’s game Cassese will travel to Smithfield, Rhode Island where he will be one of 84 players competing for a spot on the 2010 United States Men’s Lacrosse Team, which will compete in Manchester, England in July of 2010.
