The Patriot League announced its 2010 preseason golf poll on Friday and Lehigh was selected to finish fourth at next month’s league championship, which will take place the weekend of April 24-25 on the campus of Colgate University.  The Mountain Hawks finished fourth at last year’s championship after shooting an 899 as a team (296, 299, 304) at West Point Golf Course.

Three Mountain Hawks, including Tim Rosenhouse, Steve Suarez and Duncan Zeiders posted top-15 finishes at the 2009 Kelly Gutshall Invitational which wrapped up on Sunday afternoon at Saucon Valley Country Club.  Rosenhouse shot a 152 (72, 80) and tied for sixth place, while Suarez finished in 14th with a 154 (75, 79) and Zeiders shot a 155 (79, 76) and tied for 15th place.  Drexel placed first in the team standings after the Dragons shot a 609 (300, 309) with Bucknell in second with a 611 (303, 308), Villanova in third (300, 315 = 615), Lehigh in fourth with a 620 (303, 317) and Colgate in fifth (303, 318 = 621).

Sophomore Tim Rosenhouse is tied for first place after shooting a 72 in the opening round of the 2009 Kelly Gutshall Invitational being held at Saucon Valley Country Club.  Rosenhouse is tied with Kris Boyes of St. Bonaventure and Drexel’s Kyle Davis.  In the team standings the Mountain Hawks are tied with Bucknell, St. Bonaventure, and Colgate as each school shot a 303 on Saturday afternoon.  Drexel and Villanova are tied atop the team standings with identical 300s.

The Lehigh men’s golf team will play its final match of the 2009 fall season this weekend in the luxury of their own backyard as the Mountain Hawks host the Lehigh Invitational at Saucon Valley Country Club.  Nine teams will compete on the Weyhill Course as Lafayette, Bucknell, Siena, Colgate, Saint Bonaventure, Drexel, Villanova and Saint Peter’s join the Brown and White for the two-day tournament.  Action gets underway on Saturday morning and will conclude on Sunday.
