Lehigh head football coach Andy Coen has announced the addition of 28 student-athletes to the Mountain Hawks program that comprise the Class of 2014.  The incoming group spans nine states including Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia and includes student-athletes predicted to contribute at every positional group.  “We’re excited to announce our newest class and to have recruited this newest group of Mountain Hawks,” Coen explained.  “This is the fourth full year of recruiting efforts by our coaching staff and we’re looking forward to bringing this group into the program after cultivating relationships with these young men for the past ten months.”

Lehigh placed 20 student-athletes on the 2009 Patriot League Football Academic Honor Roll, it was announced on Friday.  The 20 selections are the most in the history of the Lehigh football program.  Leading the way for the Mountain Hawks was freshman running back Zach Barket who posted a 3.91 grade point average during the 2009 fall semester.  To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade point average in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League’s seven fall championship sports.

For the fourth time in the last two weeks Matt Cohen has been named to an All-America team as the senior captain garnered First Team honors from College Sporting News (CSN), it was announced on Tuesday.  This marks the third time Cohen has earned a spot on an All-America First Team after garnering First Team accolades from the Sports Network and the Walter Camp All-America Team.  The Allentown native was also named a Second Team pick by the Associated Press earlier this month.

Senior Matt Cohen has been named to his third All-America team, it was announced on Wednesday as the Mountain Hawks captain earned a spot on the 2009 Sports Network FCS All-America First-Team.  For Cohen this is the second time he has earned a spot on an All-America First-Team after garnering a spot on the Walter Camp All-America Team in early December.  The Allentown native then went on to be named to the Associated Press All-America Team as a Second-Team selection.

A pair of Mountain Hawks in senior Matt Cohen and junior Will Rackley were named to the 2009 FCS Associated Press All-America Teams, it was announced on Wednesday.  Cohen garnered a spot on the Second Team while Rackley was a Third Team pick.  For Cohen this is his second All-America selection of the week after earning a spot on the Walter Camp All-America Team on Monday.  The selections to the AP All-America Team are the first for Lehigh since the 2004 season.
