AS A SENIOR (2018): Started all 20 games, tying for the team lead in goals (5) and points (12) … Named second team All-Patriot LeagueNamed Athlete of the Year at annual end-of-season banquet … All 12 points came over final nine games … Scored the game-winning goal in the final minute of regulation in the Patriot League Semifinals against Colgate (11/2).

Assisted on the game-winning goal in the 85th minute of the regular season finale at Holy Cross (10/26) … Rocketed a goal past the keeper at Loyola (10/20) … Career game on Senior Night vs. Lafayette (10/13), posting a career-high five points via two goals and one assist. All five points came before the game was 20 minutes old … Scored game’s only goal in Lehigh’s first-ever win at American (10/6) … Fired a season-high seven shots a game prior against Navy (9/29).
 
AS A JUNIOR (2017): Started all 18 games for third consecutive season, tallying a goal and three points … Led the Mountain Hawks in shots (49) and was second in shots on goal (15) … Dished an assist in home win over Loyola (10/21) … Had an assist two games prior at Lafayette (10/14) … Fired a season and career high seven shots vs. American (10/7) and Boston University (9/23) … Scored a key insurance goal in Patriot League opening win at Army West Point (9/16) … Season-high three shots on goal at Delaware (9/3) … Assisted on game’s only goal in 1-0 win at Penn (8/25).
 
AS A SOPHOMORE (2016): Tied for second on the Mountain Hawks with nine points behind three goals and three assists … All three goals (six points) came over the final four regular season games to help Lehigh secure the No. 3 seed … Finished with 28 shots, 12 on goal … Fired a season-high four shots in the Patriot League Quarterfinals against Lafayette (11/1) … Scored the game’s only goal in regular season finale vs. American (10/28), which clinched a home game in the quarterfinals … Scored a goal in big win at unbeaten Bucknell (10/22) … Opened the scoring with a second-half goal against defending Patriot League Champion Boston University (10/15) … Dished an assist at Colgate (Sept. 24) … Had an assist and three shots on goal vs. Binghamton (9/9) … Had an assist in the home opener vs. LIU Brooklyn (8/26).

BEFORE LEHIGH: Local product out of Northwestern Lehigh High School … Four-year letterwinner in soccer and basketball as well as a three-year letterwinner in track … Captain of the soccer team her senior year … Named the Russell and Roberto Stoudt Memorial Outstanding Female Senior Athlete … 2015 Army Reserve National Female Scholar-Athlete Award winner … Was a three-time member of the Morning Call All-League first team, two-time Morning Call All-Area first team and was on the All-State first team in 2013 … As a junior and senior, Mertz helped the Tigers to Colonial League and District 11 championships, as well as the 2014 state semifinals … In track, her junior year 4x800 team won the Colonial League, the District 11 Championships and placed 12th at the PIAA championships … In 2015, was a Colonial League 4X800 meter champion … On the basketball court, was a captain as a junior and senior … Helped squad win the 2014 Colonial League Championship … Three-time Morning Call second team All-League and two-time second team All-Area in basketball … Captain of her Lehigh Valley United team, where she's played for seven years … LVU was a finalist in the 2014 Eastern Pennsylvania State Cup … Lehigh Valley Hall of Fame Female Small School Multi-Sport Athlete of the Year … Also played for the LVU Lady Sonic WPSL team in both 2013 and 2014 … Off the field, was a member of the National Honor Society, Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Key Club and the Science National Honor Society … Owned a 97.7 percent cumulative GPA on a 100 percent scale over high school career … High honor roll all four years.

Thoughts on Lehigh Coaching Staff (Coach Lambinus): Extremely supportive and willing to help with anything, both on and off the soccer field. Have a very good understanding for the game and care a lot about the team’s camaraderie.
