Complete NCAA Regional Rankings

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the first time in school history, the Lehigh women's rowing team is regionally ranked as the Mountain Hawks as a team stand No. 6 in the most recent NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Rankings, while the Second Varsity Eight is ranked fourth. Lehigh has made impressive strides this season in preparation for Friday's Patriot League Championships on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J.

"The women on this team have worked so hard over the years to build something special, and I think the regional ranking as a team shows exactly that," said Lehigh head coach Brian Conley. "This team wants to be the best versions of themselves and for the first time in program history, they are getting that recognition on a larger stage within the NCAA. We still have work to do at Patriots, but knowing the hard work is paying off is truly rewarding."

Four of the six teams in the Mid-Atlantic rankings are from the Patriot League. Navy stands at No. 1 followed by Boston University at No. 4, Bucknell at No. 5 and Lehigh at No. 6. Lehigh's No. 4 ranking in the Second Varsity Eight is good for second in the league, only trailing Navy at No. 2.

The Mountain Hawks have enjoyed a successful spring season, which began with the women's team sweeping Patriot League foe Loyola. At the Murphy Cup, the Second Varsity Eight and Junior Varsity Eight each advanced to the grand finals. The Second Varsity Eight was subsequently honored with Patriot League Boat of the Week honors, Lehigh's first Patriot League weekly award in program history. In addition, all four women's boats advanced to the grand finals at the Kerr Cup, which included the Varsity Eight placing second, ahead of regional power Drexel. Most recently, the Second Varsity Eight reached the grand finals at the Cherry Hill Invitational, beating Patriot League foe Bucknell in the process.

Lehigh wraps up its season by competing in the Patriot League Championships Friday morning on the Cooper River in Camden, New Jersey.
