
Triolo named USILA Scholar All-American

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Recent Lehigh men's lacrosse graduate Cody Triolo has continued to rack up the postseason recognition as on Thursday, he was named a Scholar All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. Triolo graduated Lehigh with a stellar 3.97 GPA in Lehigh's Integrated Business and Engineering program (as a Civil Engineering and Finance major).

Triolo is one of just six Patriot League student-athletes named Scholar All-Americans. This marks the eighth straight season Lehigh has featured a Scholar All-American, following Evan Guerrero in 2010, Jonathan Stumpf in 2011, Cameron and Roman Lao-Gosney in 2012, Brian Hess and Ryan Snyder in 2013, Ty Souders in 2014, Kurtis Kaunas in 2015 and Casey Eidenshink last season. Triolo is Lehigh's 10th honoree since 2010, and 13th in school history.

All USILA Scholar All-Americans were nominated by their coach and must have senior year academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale). He must have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution, and to college lacrosse, both on and off the field. All Scholar All-Americans must be an All-American, a member of a North/South team, or an outstanding league or conference player. Each individual was evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the Scholar All-America committee.

Most recently, Triolo played in the prestigious USILA North-South Game on Friday, May 26, posting an assist and groundball for the South. He was the 14th Mountain Hawks named to a North-South roster since 2011. Triolo finished his season with a career-high 17 points, tied for fifth on the Mountain Hawks. The co-captain added 20 groundballs and four caused turnovers, running on Lehigh's first midfield line. In his final collegiate game, he tallied his first-career hat trick in the Patriot League Quarterfinals at Boston University, while posting three or more points on three other occasions: four points vs. Lafayette (two goals, two assists), three vs. No. 13/14 Princeton (two goals, one assist) and three at Colgate (one goal, two assist).

An Academic All-Patriot League honoree and Senior CLASS Award candidate, Triolo was named Lehigh men's lacrosse's Scholar-Athlete of the Year in the spring of 2015 and has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and Dean's List (for a GPA of 3.6+) each and every season/semester. Triolo has tallied three perfect 4.0 semesters and is planning on obtaining his Master's Degree in Structural Engineering.

The Mountain Hawks wrapped up their season at 7-7 overall, advancing to their seventh straight Patriot League Tournament. Lehigh and Army West Point are the only two programs to compete in each of the last seven tournaments. Among Lehigh's highlight moments was two top-20 wins, over Boston University (in the regular season) and Princeton.
