BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following a historic sophomore campaign, Lehigh men's lacrosse sophomore Craig Chick has been named an honorable mention All-American by Inside Lacrosse, as announced on Sunday evening. This season marks the inaugural Inside Lacrosse Media All-America teams, which were compiled by more than 30 members of the lacrosse media who vote in the weekly Maverik Media Poll.

Chick wrapped up his sophomore campaign with a school-record 40 caused turnovers to increase his career total to 77 following two seasons, already second in school history and just 20 behind the program's all-time career leader, Tripp Telesco, who tallied 97 from 2013-16. The 40 caused turnovers this season stand third in the nation, one year after he led the nation with 37

Chick is Lehigh's first All-American since Dan Taylor garnered USILA honorable mention All-America recognition in 2015. Also a 2017 first team All-Patriot League honoree, Chick is one of just nine honorees from the league and Lehigh is one of four Patriot League schools with an Inside Lacrosse All-America representative.

Chick helped spearhead Lehigh's defense at both long-stick midfield and close defense this past season, as the Mountain Hawks allowed seven or fewer goals against four Patriot League opponents. Lehigh also contained a potent Princeton offense, giving up only one first-half goal and just 10 for the game, which was exactly five fewer goals than they were averaging entering the contest. The Tigers had been No. 3 in the nation in scoring offense.

Individually, Chick recorded multiple caused turnovers in all but three games in 2017, including five at Holy Cross and four on four separation occasions: vs. Army West Point, at Navy, vs. Boston University and at Boston University in the Patriot League Quarterfinals. Chick finished second on the Mountain Hawks in groundballs with 58 (to increase his career total to 117). He had eight groundballs and four caused turnovers against Army West Point while tallying nine groundballs, three caused turnovers, an assist and four faceoff wins (in eight attempts) to lead Lehigh past No. 13/14 Princeton, 15-10. It marked Lehigh's second straight home win over a nationally-ranked opponent. Chick was a threat all over the field, also adding two goals, six assists and eight faceoff wins on the season.

The Mountain Hawks wrapped up their season at 7-7 overall, advancing to their seventh straight Patriot League Tournament. Lehigh and Army West Point are the only two programs to compete in each of the last seven tournaments. Among Lehigh's highlight moments was two top-20 wins, over Boston University (in the regular season) and Princeton.
