
LaBeau and Tvedt earn Patriot League weekly awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's lacrosse seniors Allison LaBeau and Taylor Tvedt were rewarded for outstanding efforts at Bucknell Friday with Patriot League weekly awards, as announced on Monday. LaBeau was named Attacker of the Week for a second straight week and third time this season while Tvedt garnered Defensive Player of the Week for a second time. The two helped lead Lehigh to a 12-4 win at Bucknell in the regular season finale Friday, clinching the No. 3 seed and a home game for the Patriot League Quarterfinals.

The award marked LaBeau's eighth of her career (also winning Attacker of the Week three times last season, Offensive Player of the Week once in 2015 and Rookie of the Week once in 2014). LaBeau continued her impressive play on Friday, posting five or more points for a ninth straight game, eight coming against Patriot League opponents. She finished with three goals and two assists, marking her seventh hat trick of the season and 26th of her career. LaBeau had two goals and an assist in the first half before adding a goal and assist in the second, beginning and ended Lehigh's 9-0 run with goals. LaBeau now has 50 points (23 goals, 27 assists) in nine Patriot League games this season (5.6 per contest). For the season, she leads the Mountain Hawks with 78 points behind 37 goals and 41 assists; LaBeau is one of just three players nationally with 35+ goals and 40+ assists in 2017. With her two assists Friday, she moved into sixth place in Patriot League history with 41 assists in a season. LaBeau also moved into 10th place in Patriot League history with 224 career points. She owns a 34-game point streak since the beginning of last season.

On the other end of the field, Tvedt finished Friday's game with 11 saves while allowing just four goals. She stopped nine-of-12 shots sent her way in the first half to help Lehigh take a 7-3 halftime lead, then made two more saves in the second half while allowing just one goal. Tvedt helped the Mountain Hawks shut-out the Bison for 35:06, from 7:15 remaining in the first half until 2:09 left in the second, as Lehigh went on a 9-0 run to turn a 3-3 tie into a 12-3 lead. Lehigh held Bucknell to a season-low tying four goals. For the season, Tvedt owns a 9.85 goals against average and .483 save percentage.

Also recognized on Monday was senior Lauren Beausoleil, who scored three goals for her first hat trick of the season while adding a game-high five draw controls, along with two caused turnovers and a groundball. Beausoleil's third goal of the game marked her 100th career point.

The third-seeded Mountain Hawks will now play in their fourth straight Patriot League Tournament on Tuesday when they host No. 6 seed Bucknell on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Tickets are now available and can be purchased, here.
