BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following an impressive 10-6 win over No. 16/18 Boston University on Saturday, Lehigh men's lacrosse sophomore Eddie Bouhall was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week while senior Donny Stires garnered Goalie of the Week honors. Bouhall is the second Mountain Hawk to win the defensive award this season (along with classmate Craig Chick), while Stires made his first-career start and was named Lehigh's first Goalkeeper of the Week since Matt Poillon in 2014.

Bouhall enjoyed a stellar effort to lead Lehigh's defense, recording a career-high six groundballs and a career-high tying four caused turnovers, helping Lehigh to its first win over a nationally-ranked opponent since beating No. 20 Boston University last season. Bouhall tied a career-high four caused turnovers by the end of the first quarter. Bouhall helped lead the Mountain Hawks' defense, which held Boston University to six goals, tied for its season low. Lehigh only allowed three even strength goals all day. After BU scored three goals in the game's first 14:42, the Mountain Hawks didn't allow a goal for the next 29:26. In that time, Lehigh's offense scored six unanswered to take control of the game. For the season, Bouhall now owns 26 groundballs and 13 caused turnovers.

Stires impressed in his first start of the season, making a career-high 13 saves, 10 of which came in the second half. He stopped 10-of-13 shots in the second half, helping the Mountain Hawks prevent any hopes of a Terriers' comeback. Stires made four saves on four shots in the first 2:46 of the third quarter. After BU pulled within 9-6, Stires stopped Boston University's remaining five shots on goal. During Lehigh's 6-0 run spanning 29:26, Stires made six saves. For the season, Stires owns an 8.15 goals against average and .607 save percentage

Sophomore Tristan Rai was also recognized on Monday with honorable mention recognition on the Patriot League weekly honor roll. Rai had five points on Saturday (three goals, two assists), his third straight hat trick and third straight game with five or more points.

The Mountain Hawks will hit the road next Saturday, Apr. 8 for another big Patriot League matchup at Loyola. Opening faceoff is set for 1 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
