BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh men's lacrosse senior Cody Triolo was recognized on Wednesday for his excellence in the classroom and on the field, by being named to the Academic All-Patriot League team. Triolo boats a stellar 3.97 cumulative GPA in Lehigh's Integrated Business and Engineering program, while running on the Mountain Hawks' first midfield line. Triolo tallied his first-career hat trick in Tuesday night's Patriot League Quarterfinal contest to finish the season tied for fifth on the team with 17 points (14 goals, three assists).
Â
A true student-athlete, Triolo was named a candidate for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award earlier this season. A Civil Engineering and Finance major, Triolo has succeeded in a challenging curriculum, all while excelling on the field as well. He was named Lehigh men's lacrosse's Scholar-Athlete of the Year in the spring of 2015 and has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and Dean's List (for a GPA of 3.6+) each and every season/semester. Triolo has garnered the Faculty Athletics Council Award and has tallied three perfect 4.0 semesters.
Â
Triolo owns impressive experience in his field, most recently interning with Michael Baker International, Civil Engineering Consulting last summer. The previous summer, Triolo interned with Spartan Polymers, Resin Distributor. After his days as an undergraduate student, Triolo is planning on obtaining his Master's Degree in Structural Engineering, looking to get into the field of Structural Engineering.
Â
Along with his three goals at Boston University on Tuesday night, the senior co-captain had a goal and two assists in an 11-5 win at Colgate and two goals and two assists in a 15-7 victory vs. Lafayette. Triolo also tallied two goals and an assist in Lehigh's big 15-10 win over No. 13/14 Princeton.
Â
The Mountain Hawks wrapped up their season at 7-7 overall, advancing to their seventh straight Patriot League Tournament. Lehigh and Army West Point are the only two programs to compete in each of the last seven tournaments. Among Lehigh's highlight moments was two top-20 wins, over Boston University (in the regular season) and Princeton.
