PATRIOT LEAGUE RELEASE

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the second time this season, Lehigh baseball freshman pitcher Levi Stoudt has been tabbed as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week as the league announced its weekly baseball awards on Tuesday afternoon.

The right-handed freshman held the Patriot League's top offense and one of the best offenses in the nation to one unearned run on just three hits in a tough 1-0 loss to Navy on Sunday. Stoudt tossed a complete game (7.0 innings) in game one on Sunday and held the Midshipmen to their lowest single-game run and hit totals of the season. Navy entered the weekend ranked sixth in the nation in team batting average with a mark of .317 with a league-leading 7.70 runs per game on a league-best 10.86 hits per game.

The rookie righty recorded a 0.57 WHIP for the game with three strikeouts and held Navy to a .125 batting average for the game. Stoudt played a huge factor in keeping Lehigh in contention for a win as he received just four hits in offensive support.

In back-to-back starts, Stoudt has held the league's top two teams (Navy and Holy Cross) to a combined total of eight hits and one earned run through 13.0 innings pitched. The LU freshman leads the Patriot League with a 1.81 earned-run average through nine starts and 44.2 innings this season.

This is the second Rookie of the Week honor for Stoudt and the third overall Patriot League weekly award for the freshman as he also earned Pitcher of the Week honors previously this season. The Mountain Hawks have garnered six total Patriot League weekly awards so far this season.
