PATRIOT LEAGUE RELEASE

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh baseball senior Connor Donovan garnered his second Patriot League weekly honor this season as he was named the league's Pitcher of the Week as the league office announced its weekly award winners on Tuesday.

The right-hander led the Mountain Hawks to its lone win last week in a 2-0 victory at Holy Cross in game one of a four-game set with the Patriot League preseason favorite. Donovan allowed just two runners to reach scoring position as he surrendered just four hits while striking out a career-high seven batters in 7.0 scoreless innings to earn the complete game shutout. Donovan and the Lehigh defense held the Crusaders scoreless for the first time in league play this season.

For the week, the senior righty posted a 0.00 earned-run average with a WHIP of 0.71 while averaging 1.00 strikeouts per inning. Following his stellar performance at Holy Cross, Donovan moved into the team lead with a 1.93 ERA on the season. He is 2-2 in four starts on the year and is holding opponents to a .258 batting average with just two extra-base hits in 23.1 innings of work.

This is the first Pitcher of the Week honor for Donovan in his career and earned his first Player of the Week award earlier this season. He is the third Lehigh pitcher to garner the league's weekly award this season (Ethan Frohman – 3/7, Levi Stoudt – 3/21) as the Mountain Hawks now have five Patriot League weekly award winners this season among the Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week awards.
