PATRIOT LEAGUE RELEASE
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh sophomore Ethan Frohman has been named the Patriot League Baseball Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league on Tuesday evening. This is the first career Patriot League weekly award for Frohman, who is the first Mountain Hawk to earn a weekly award in the 2017 season.
The lefty threw the final 4.2 innings in relief in last Saturday's 3-0 loss at Marshall. He allowed just one hit and kept Marshall off the board to allow Lehigh a chance at a comeback. The sophomore recorded the most strikeouts on the weekend by a Lehigh pitcher with five, as he averaged 1.19 strikeouts per inning. For the season, Frohman owns a 0.00 ERA in 10.1 innings of work.
Senior outfielder Anthony Rinaldi earned an Honorable Mention from the Patriot League for his performance this past weekend. Rinaldi batted .417 (5-for-12) during the three-game series at Marshall with two runs scored, three doubles, one home run and one RBI. He was the only Lehigh player to record a hit in each of the three games and the only player to post multiple multi-hit games. The senior led the team in extra-base hits with four as he hit a team-leading three doubles and accounted for one of the team's three home runs on the weekend.
Lehigh heads to Coppin State on Wednesday for a midweek meeting starting a 3 p.m.
