BETHLEHEM, Pa. - One day before the Final Four kicks off on Saturday, Lehigh men's basketball senior Tim Kempton is set to play in the 2017 Reese's® Division I College All-Star Game to be played this Friday, Mar, 31, at 6:30 p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. locally). The announcement was made by the National Association of College Basketball Coaches (NABC) on Tuesday. The game will be played at University of Phoenix Stadium in Phoenix, Arizona, home of the NFL's Arizona Cardinals and can be seen live nation-wide on CBS Sports Network. In total, 21 of the nation's top seniors were selected for the prestigious All-Star Game. The event will be especially special for Kempton, who is a native of Scottsdale.

Kempton will suit up for the East All-Stars alongside student-athletes from Notre Dame, Virginia, Cincinnati and more. The West consists of players such as Nathan Adrian of West Virginia, Bryce Alford of UCLA and Derek Willis of Kentucky.

Kempton is also set to compete at the Portsmouth Invitational, which begins on Wednesday, Apr. 12. The Portsmouth Invitational gives 64 seniors an opportunity to be evaluated by NBA scouts and personnel.

The first-ever Lehigh player named to the College All-Star Game, Kempton is set to represent the Mountain Hawks one last time after recently wrapping up a historic career in the Brown and White. A two-time Patriot League Player of the Year, and All-American, Kempton was also named a Final Five Finalist for the prestigious Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award presented to the top center in the nation. He was named Lehigh's first USBWA All-District honoree since C.J. McCollum in 2011 while also garnering NABC All-District recognition. Kempton was the only Patriot League player named an ECAC All-Star as well, garnering first team laurels, while being named a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award.

Kempton continued to improve over his record-breaking four-year career, finishing his senior season by averaging career highs in points (20.4) and rebounds (10.4). Kempton ended his career, with nine double-doubles in his last 10 games to reach 21 for the season and 54 in his career. His 21 double-doubles currently good for seventh nationally. Kempton is one of just two players in the nation to average 20+ points and 10+ rebounds this season while he leads the nation in 20+ point, 10+ rebound games with 16.

In addition to the postseason recognition, Kempton broke the Patriot League record by winning seven Player of the Week awards in 2016-17. He leaves Lehigh as its all-time leading rebounder (1,095), while standing third in points (2,038). Kempton is second in Patriot League history in career rebounds and stands fourth in points.

Kempton averaged 24.3 points and 13.3 rebounds over Lehigh's three Patriot League Tournament games as he helped lead the Mountain Hawks to the Patriot League Championship Game for a second consecutive season. One of the highlights came in the semifinals at Boston University when he tallied 15 points, five rebounds and two blocks in the 10 minutes of overtime, helping lead Lehigh to the thrilling 91-88 double overtime victory. Kempton averaged 24.3 points and 12.0 rebounds per game in six contests against eventual NCAA Tournament teams.

The Mountain Hawks finished the 2016-17 season with a 20-12 record, Lehigh's fourth time reaching 20 wins in the last eight seasons. Lehigh earned an impressive win over eventual Ivy League Champion Princeton while finishing 4-2 against eventual NCAA Tournament teams. The Mountain Hawks continue to put themselves in contention for a championship, reaching the title game for the fourth time in the last eight years.
