PATRIOT LEAGUE RELEASE
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh freshman pitcher Levi Stoudt has earned the titles of Patriot League Pitcher and Rookie of the Week as the league announced its weekly baseball awards on Tuesday.
The right-hander led the Mountain Hawks to a 4-0 victory over North Dakota State last Wednesday as Lehigh closed out its spring break trip to Florida on a winning note. The freshman was the catalyst behind the team's first shutout victory since the 2015 season.
Stoudt tossed 7.0 innings, allowing five hits, just one extra-base hit, one walk and struck out 11 batters. NDSU put only three runners in scoring position while the freshman was on the mound as he forced seven ground outs and three fly outs.
Stoudt's strikeout count is a season-high for both himself and the team this season. He is the first Lehigh pitcher to record double-digit strikeout numbers since Mar, 30, 2016.
The Mountain Hawks will be in action on Tuesday with a 3 p.m. game at Penn. Lehigh is slated to return home on Saturday for a doubleheader against NJIT.
