
Men's Tennis Completes Opening Weekend at Saint Joseph's

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Lehigh men's tennis team completed the opening weekend of the 2016 fall schedule with a trip to the Saint Joseph's Fall Invitational this past Friday through Sunday.
The pairing of Dylan Karchere-Sun and Tyler Hansen had a strong outing on the weekend. The duo went 3-1 in the doubles flight 2 bracket and reached the championship match. Karchere-Sun and Hansen earned victories of 8-4, 8-4 and 8-2 on the weekend.
Karcherer-Sun and Hansen found continued success as they both competed in singles flight 3. Each player went 2-1 on the weekend and both reached the semifinals.
In singles flight 1, Jack Petersen compiled a record of 3-2 and reached the final match of the consolation bracket. The junior battled back to win three-straight matches in the consolation bracket after falling in his first match of the tournament.
In singles flight 2, Jack Martin-Dyer finished the weekend with a record of 2-1 and reached the semifinals in his collegiate debut. The freshman earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory in his first match and a 4-6, 6-2, 10-2 victory in his second match before falling 6-3, 6-1 in his third match.
In singles flight 4, Graham Lehman went 2-1 on the weekend and reached the semifinal round of the bracket. The senior earned a 6-4, 6-3 victory in his first match and a 3-6, 6-4, 10-5 win in his second match before falling 7-6, 6-2 in the semifinal round.
The Mountain Hawks will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 1 when they return home for the Lehigh Invitational.
