Lehigh Athletics enters second year with reward program

Bethlehem, PA: Before the 2015 sport season, the Lehigh Athletics Department partnered with SuperFanU to create a mobile platform, Mountain Hawk Rewards, where fans can gain points for attending its events and redeem these points for prizes. The app is customized to fit the needs of Lehigh Athletics and its fans, showcasing easy access to the athletics event schedule, the department website, and their social media sites.

Once you have the app downloaded to your phone, it's very easy to use. Each event is customized to fit a radius around the venue and time period for the user to check-in. Once you enter that radius, you can go to app and 'check-in' by opening the listed event. Your points will automatically be added to your score. Keep track of your points through the 'Leaders' section. Fans are encouraged to redeem their points at the 'Prize Store' section where they can receive apparel, gift certificates, merchandise, and more. Thanks to our supporting partners, the prizes are local to our community and practical for every day use.

"In the ever-growing market of college athletics, we feel this app has provided us a chance to keep adding benefits to our loyal fans in a fun and engaging manner while rewarding them for supporting our student-athletes," comments Travis Spencer, the Director of Business Development for Athletics.

About to begin its second year, more than 1,365 people have participated in the program and that number is expected to grow. With over 180 events expected to be installed for 2016-2017, every Lehigh sporting event and some special events have points attached to them. Events are typically added when the schedule for each program is confirmed including post-season home contests. All fans are welcome to participate in the program including students, community members, alumni, and Lehigh faculty/staff. There is no cost to download or join the program.
