BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's lacrosse team jumped out to an 8-2 halftime lead before Bucknell staged a valiant second-half comeback attempt, but the Mountain Hawks held on to pick up a big 12-11 win in the regular season finale Friday. With the win, Lehigh clinches a home game in the Patriot League Quarterfinals on Tuesday night, their first home postseason contest since 2010. The Mountain Hawks improve to 12-4 overall and 6-3 in league play while Bucknell falls to 10-7 and 4-5 in the league.

"I'm so proud of our team for making it a goal this year to be good in home games," said Lehigh head coach Jill Redfern. "Their results have been terrific at home. For them to be rewarded with a home game (in the Patriot League Tournament) really shows their determination and hard worked paid off."

Lehigh's 12 overall wins marks its most since the 2010 season. Friday's victory was the Mountain Hawks' ninth straight at home, a school record in the Patriot League era. Lehigh's nine home wins this season are also a school record since joining the league.

Junior Lauren Beausoleil led the offense with a career-high five goals while classmate Allison LaBeau recorded five points (four goals, one assists), her 11th game this season with four or more points. In the process, she reached 71 points on the season (41 goals, 30 assists), becoming the first Mountain Hawk to eclipse 70 points since Lauren Dykstra in 2011.

Senior Kendall Garden added two goals and two assists to eclipse 100 career points while she added three groundballs and two caused turnovers. Freshmen Annie Pearson (one goal, one assist) and Courtney Henig (two assists) each had two points.

Junior Julianne D'Orazio led the defense with career highs in groundballs (8) and caused turnovers (7). The seven caused turnovers are tied for the fourth most in the nation this season. Sophomore Kayleen Kelly also tallied a pair of caused turnovers, as did Garden.

"Julianne had an incredible night tonight," said Redfern. "She knows how to get out there and make difference-making plays every game for us. I'm really proud of her performance."

The Mountain Hawks jumped out to a 5-0 lead midway through the first half following Pearson's seventh goal of the season with 16:35 on the clock. The teams traded goals over the ensuing minutes until Beausoleil scored her third and fourth goals of the half to give Lehigh an 8-2 lead after 30 minutes of play.

The Bison opened the second half on a 4-0 run to pull within 8-5 with 20:55 remaining. Lehigh had an answer, scoring consecutive goals from LaBeau and Garden to give the Mountain Hawks a 10-6 advantage. Bucknell wouldn't go away, pulling within two on three separate occasions and one with 1:28 on the clock, but Beausoleil came up with a big draw control to help the Mountain Hawks run out the clock.

Final shots were 30-19 in favor of Lehigh while the Mountain Hawks held a 20-8 edge in groundballs. Bucknell finished with a 15-10 advantage in draw controls. Bison goalkeeper Jamie DeWitt made seven saves while Lehigh sophomore goalie Elizabeth Nussbaum had four.

The Mountain Hawks will now be home on Tuesday for the Patriot League Quarterfinals as they'll be the No. 4 seed and host fifth-seeded Colgate at 6 p.m. Check back to Lehighsports.com and Lehigh Women's Lacrosse on Facebook and follow on Twitter and Instagram for updates, exclusive content and more.

"We're just excited to be in the tournament first of all and we know this is a first-step game in order to get to the weekend," said Redfern. "We're going to be focused on ourselves, celebrate this win a little bit then start getting ready for Tuesday."
