Mountain Hawks announce spring schedule

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The reigning Patriot League Champion men's soccer team has unveiled its challenging spring schedule, which begins with a scrimmage against the Harrisburg City Islanders of the USL Thursday March 10th at the Ulrich Sports Complex on Frank Banko Field at 7:30 p.m. Four of Lehigh's five spring contests will be played at home.
Following Lehigh's spring opener against the Islanders, the Mountain Hawks will host West Chester on Friday April 8, before traveling to 2015 Big East Champion Georgetown on April 16.
The Mountain Hawks will then welcome the Bethlehem Steel FC to the Ulrich Sports Complex on Wednesday April 20. The Steel, an affiliate of the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer, will begin their inaugural season this spring and use Lehigh's Goodman Stadium as their home field. Lehigh will wrap up its spring slate against Drexel on April 23 at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
The Mountain Hawks finished the 2015 season 13-6-3 overall, marking one of four times in program history that Lehigh has secured 13 or more wins in a season. Lehigh finished league play 4-3-2 to earn the No. 4 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. Lehigh took down No. 5 Bucknell in the quarterfinals before beating top-seeded Colgate in the semis and No. 3 American in the championship. The Mountain Hawks fell at Hofstra in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Lehigh sat atop the Northeast regional rankings in the final regular season NSCAA poll.
