BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After another impressive week, Lehigh junior Allison LaBeau was named the Patriot League Attacker of the Week on Monday for the second time in the past three weeks. LaBeau tallied 10 points over two games, highlighted by a seven-point effort in the Patriot League opener, as the Mountain Hawks' winning streak reached six with victories over Davidson and Holy Cross.
Â
LaBeau started her week off with a goal and two assists in a 7-5 win over Davidson Tuesday. The Mountain Lakes, N.J. native assisted on two consecutive second-half goals, in a 19-second span, that pushed Lehigh's lead from 5-4 to 7-4.
Â
LaBeau topped that performance in the Mountain Hawks' league opener against Holy Cross Saturday as she compiled a team-high seven points on three goals and four assists. The two-time All-Patriot League honoree was responsible for five of Lehigh's eight first-half goals as she picked up her 13th-career hat trick in the 12-7 win.
Â
LaBeau leads the team in goals (18), assists (17) and points (35). She also ranks first in the Patriot League in points and assists. LaBeau has tallied at least three points in all seven games this season, reaching six points on three occasions.
Â
This is the fourth time LaBeau has garnered a weekly award in her illustrious career, wining Patriot League Rookie of the Week as a freshman, Offensive Player of the Week as a sophomore and now Attacker of the Week twice this season.
Â
Junior Julianne D'Orazio was also recognized on Monday for her strong all-around play, garnering honorable mention laurels. Against Holy Cross, D'Orazio filled up the stat sheet with a goal, four groundballs, three draw controls and a career-high five caused turnovers.
Â
Lehigh will resume Patriot League play on Saturday when the Mountain Hawks host American. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. from the Ulrich Sports Complex. Live video will be available on the Patriot League Network.
