
Mountain Hawks open up spring at Lady EagleCat Invitational

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – In its first competitive round of the spring season, the Lehigh women's golf team shot a 340 on the opening day of the Lady EagleCat Invitational at the LPGA International. Lehigh sits in ninth place out of 14 teams after the first 18 holes of play. The co-hosts Winthrop and Bethune-Cookman hold down the top two spots with rounds of 307 and 308, respectively. Towson finished day one in third place with a score of 310.

Individually, the Mountain Hawks played without senior captain Nicole Feierberg. The low round on Monday came from freshman Reagan Jahn, who shot nine over par 82 and is tied for 27th place.

Sophomore Casey Farmer is next as she is tied for 38th place after an 84. Farmer was one of the top performers in the par fours on Monday as she ranked among the leaders in par four scoring at three over par.

One stroke behind Farmer was classmate Megan Moylan, who is tied for 41st place after an 85.

Freshman Aileen Jeong and junior Elizabeth McGarrigle had their moments, but finished with rounds of 89 and are tied for 52nd place. Jeong played the par threes at even par, while McGarrigle was even on the par fives on the par 73 course.

Fourteen of the 77 entrants broke 80 on Monday, with Winthrop's Julie Reinertsen and Bethune-Cookman's Shamiso Hatchard and Mackenzie Butler all tied for the lead at even par 73. Towson's Krissy Unger sits one shot off the pace.
