NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Lehigh men's track and field program wrapped up its pair of meets in The Big Apple over the weekend with the Armory Track Invitational and the Villanova Invitational. Junior Lucas Warning picked up his third win of the season in the shot put at the Villanova Invite and sophomore Patrick Reilly hit an IC4A/ECAC qualifying mark at the Armory.

Armory Track Invitational:

The 5,000 meter run had Reilly leading the way for the Brown and White with a fifth place tally, finishing the race in 14:33.98, setting a new personal best time by almost 12 seconds and qualifying for the IC4A/ECAC. Teammates Evan Hardy and Alexander Fitzgerald joined him in cracking the top 10 by finishing eighth and ninth, respectively with Fitzgerald (14:45.41) setting a new personal benchmark and Hardy coming within one second (14:44.34) of his PR.

Junior Ryan Cooney led the way for Lehigh in the 3,000 meter run, placing 11th overall in 8:35.51, just 0.35 seconds short of a personal-best.

Junior Christopher Del Rossi led the Mountain Hawks by placing 42nd in the 400 meter dash (50.54), with freshman Emre Soybas coming in behind him in 55th.

In the field events, senior Tyler John was Lehigh's top placer in the pole vault, clearing the bar in third place at a height of 4.55 meters. Sophomore Michael Camera tied for 38th overall in the long jump after leaping 6.15m, which was good enough for one place higher than teammate Ryan Givens. Freshmen Alexander Rodgers (20th/13.16m) and Kevin Sheldon (26th/11.11m) both represented Lehigh in the shot put.

Villanova Invitational:

Warning was victorious for the second straight meet and third time in the last four in the shot put. The junior topped the field of 18 throwers with a distance of 16.93 meters to take home the title. He now has three first place finishes and a pair of runner up performances in the event on the season, having reset the school record twice.

Junior Daniel Boardman competed in two events for the Brown and White, placing sixth in both the high jump (1.97m) and long jump (6.62m).

"We're pretty excited about where we're at and how we're shaping up for the league championships in two weeks," head coach Matt Utesch said afterwards on Saturday.

Lehigh will have one more warmup before the league championships, which will come next Friday, Feb. 12 at the Bucknell Tune Up.
