
Bragalone, Mish honored by league; Lehigh enters FCS Coaches Poll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh sophomores Dominick Bragalone and Ed Mish picked up Patriot League weekly awards Monday for their respective efforts in the Mountain Hawks' convincing 46-14 win at Holy Cross on Saturday. A career-best rushing day helped Bragalone win Offensive Player of the Week honors for the first time, while Mish was named Special Teams Player of the Week for the second week in a row and the third time this season.

The Mountain Hawks ran their winning streak to six straight scoring 46 unanswered points on a wet, windy afternoon in Worcester, Mass. On Monday Lehigh cracked one of the major FCS polls for the first time since the last week of the 2013 regular season. The Mountain Hawks are ranked No. 24 in the FCS Coaches Poll. Lehigh is listed second among others receiving votes in the STATS FCS Top 25 with 174 points.

Bragalone was stopped for a loss of two yards on his first carry Saturday but proceeded to gain 184 over his next 16 rushing attempts. The career-high 182 rushing yards on 17 carries created a 10.7 yard average per rush. He also scored two touchdowns, a two-yarder in the first quarter that tied the game at 7-7 and then a career-long 66-yard touchdown run as part of a 21-0 third quarter spurt that helped the Mountain Hawks put the game out of reach.

For the season, Bragalone now has 718 rushing yards and is averaging 5.1 yards per carry with nine rushing touchdowns.

Mish enjoyed another solid all-around week handling all the kicking and punting duties for the Mountain Hawks. He converted five more extra points in five attempts, to improve to 44-for-44 on the season. Mish also booted a 34-yard field goal in the second quarter and averaged 62.6 yards on eight kickoffs with three more touchbacks. He also averaged 45.5 yards on six punts with two downed inside the Holy Cross 20, including a key improvisational punt that came after a dropped snap in the first quarter.

With 44 extra points and two field goals, Mish has an even 50 points on the season. Twenty of his 54 kickoffs have gone for touchbacks and Mish is averaging 42.3 yards on 32 punts.
