BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh softball program captured a pair of major awards and placed a league-best nine student-athletes on the All-Patriot League teams, as the league announced its all-league teams and major award winners Wednesday. Senior Emily Bausher captured her second consecutive Patriot League Pitcher of the Year award and becomes a four-time All-Patriot League selection while freshman outfielder Nicole Yozzo was voted Rookie of the Year.
Bausher was joined on the first team by senior Emma Capetz, juniors Alexis Watanabe and MacKenzie Velasquez and sophomore Christine Campbell.
Lehigh had four players selected to the second time with juniors Jessica Calvini and Morgan Decker and sophomore Vicky Lattanzio joining Yozzo.
The all-league teams and major softball awards are voted on by the league's head coaches.
Bausher has worked her way back from an injury-marred junior campaign to produce an outstanding senior season in the pitcher's circle. Now a three-time first team all-league selection, Bausher owns an 18-5 record in 25 appearances and leads the league in wins, earned run average (1.28), strikeouts (178) and shutouts (nine). A six-time Patriot League Pitcher of the Week this season, Bausher went 9-2 with a 0.58 ERA and six shutouts in 12 league games.
Lehigh pitchers have now won 13 Pitcher of the Year awards dating back to 1993 and nine of 11 since 2005.
On Tuesday, Bausher was named Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for softball. She ranks second in school history with 641 strikeouts and ranks in the top five in school and league annals for wins, shutouts and ERA.

Campbell's first all-league selection gives the Mountain Hawks both first team pitchers. The reigning Pitcher of the Week, Campbell went 16-2 during the regular season with four shutouts and ranks second to Bausher in the league with a 1.28 ERA. She pitched 12 innings against Colgate last weekend without allowing an earned run, including a five-inning no-hitter on Saturday.

Watanabe garners her third all-league honor and her second consecutive spot on the first team. The Patriot League's leading hitter, Watanabe boasts a .462 batting average that ranks 14th nationally. She has seven doubles and has driven in 25 runs out of the No. 2 spot in Lehigh's batting order. Watanabe led the Mountain Hawks with 18 RBI in Patriot League games.
Velasquez picks up her first career all-league nod after leading the Mountain Hawks with a .476 batting average in league games. Lehigh's starting center fielder, Velasquez has been productive in the No. 2 spot in Lehigh's lineup, batting .378 overall with 18 runs batted in.
Decker leads Lehigh's second team selections after becoming a three-time all-league performer at third base. A .328 hitter during the regular season, Decker came on late in the year to finish with four home runs and a team-leading 36 RBI. Decker batted .440 with 17 RBI in league games and has driven in 16 runs in her last ten games.
Calvini collects her second straight all-league honor, hitting .323 and leading Lehigh with five home runs, while ranking second to Decker with 31 RBI. Lehigh's starting right fielder, Calvini also saw significant time at first base. Calvini hit a grand slam against Boston University and recently had a pair of three-run home runs in a May 2 win at Colgate.
Lattanzio rounds out Lehigh's all-league selections as the second team designated player. Now a two-time all-league selection, Lattanzio batted .304 and contributed 19 RBI. Six of her 34 hits went for extra bases, including three triples, which ties her for the team lead. Lattanzio also has drawn a team-leading 19 walks.
