
Seniors Dickens and Moylan pace Lehigh on day one of Red Flash Invitational

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – A strong afternoon team round of 305 has the Lehigh women's golf team in second place after 36 holes at the Red Flash Invitational, which opened up Monday at Sunnehanna Country Club. The afternoon 305 combined with a morning 322 have the Mountain Hawks at 627, nine strokes behind the host Red Flash of Saint Francis.

Wagner sits in third place, seven strokes behind the Mountain Hawks, while Niagara rounds out the four team field at 640 (322-318). Lehigh's 305 was the lowest team round of the day. Saint Francis carded back-to-back rounds of 309.

Individually, Lehigh was led by seniors Melanie Dickens and Kelly Moylan, who sit in fifth and sixth place, respectively. Dickens carded the low round of the day, a three over par 73 and combined with a morning 81 stands at 154. Moylan led Lehigh's scoring players in the morning with a 78 and matched that score in the afternoon to finish day one at 156.

Junior Nicole Feierberg is tied for ninth at 158 after following up a morning 82 with an afternoon 76. Freshman Megan Moylan shot 160 on Monday (82-78) and is tied for 13th place. Senior Alyssa Scheyd led Lehigh in this event last year. She shot 80 and 81 on Monday and sits in 15th place at 161.

Lehigh has two additional players competing as individuals. Freshman Casey Farmer is tied for ninth place at 158. Farmer led all Lehigh players with a 76 in the morning and followed up with an 82 in the afternoon. Junior Tess Jennings sits in a tie for 18th place at 163 (81-82).

Taylar Jaramillo of Saint Francis holds the individual lead at eight over par 148 (75-73), one stroke better than Noelle Maertz of Wagner.
