WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Lehigh men's swimming and diving team split the West Chester tri meet on Friday evening, defeating Bloomsburg 103-101 while falling to West Chester, 154-83. Junior Jacob Moyar paced the Mountain Hawks with two first-place finishes and a second-place finish.

"Our men struggled at times but were also able to win some close battles," Lehigh head coach Rob Herb said. "West Chester proved to be too strong, but it was good to come away with the win against Bloomsburg."

Following the 400 yard medley, Moyar got Lehigh off to a fast start, winning the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 9:45.57. The time was more than seven seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Two events later, junior Justin White placed second in the 200 yard freestyle, finishing in 1:43.14. Moyar continued his success, this time in the 200 yard IM, coming in second with a time of 1:54.70.

Three other Mountain Hawks were victorious on Friday as senior Jake Hassel and junior Justin Kostelnik finished first and second in the 200 yard butterfly with times of 1:56.38 and 1:56.93, respectively. Junior Justin White won the 100 yard freestyle (46.27) and freshman Jason Ewart was victorious in the 200 yard backstroke (1:56.37).

Moyar's evening wasn't finished as he also captured the top finish in the 500 yard freestyle (4:43.60).

The Mountain Hawks (1-2) return to action in less than 24 hours when they travel to Rider for a 1 p.m. matinee.
