Lehigh claims four major awards, has seven named All-Patriot League

While Bausher's innings were limited throughout the regular season, the junior right hander came through in a big way for Lehigh during Patriot League play. In nine Patriot League appearances spanning 47 innings, Bausher went 9-0 with a 0.89 ERA and 55 strikeouts, compared to just seven walks. For the season, the now three-time All-Patriot League selection struck out 99 in 107 innings and posted a 13-6 record with a 2.22 ERA. Bausher is Lehigh's 12th Pitcher of the Year honoree.
Watanabe captures the inaugural Defensive Player of the Year award after committing just two errors in 172 defensive chances, good for a .988 fielding percentage. Lehigh's sophomore second baseman had a hand in seven double plays and the 172 defensive chances ranked third on the Mountain Hawks. Watanabe earns first team All-League honors after capturing second team laurels as a freshman. She batted .371 this season and leads the Mountain Hawks with 62 hits, 35 runs scored and five triples.
Joining Bausher, Decker and Watanabe on the first team were junior Cassie Waggy, sophomore Jessica Calvini and freshman Vicky Lattanzio.
Waggy was honored at first base where she led the Mountain Hawks with 17 RBI during Patriot League play, to go along with a .315 average. Overall, Waggy drove in 27 runs including three home runs in 48 games. She is now a three-time first team All-League selection, earning two straight honors at first base and one at designated player.
Calvini earned an at-large spot on the first team after batting .286 with four home runs at 28 RBI. She tied with Decker for the team lead with 11 doubles. Calvini has started all 48 games for the Mountain Hawks, settling in as Lehigh's left fielder while also being able to play first base.
The only freshman selected to the first team, Lattanzio matched Calvini for second on the Mountain Hawks with 28 RBI, to go along with a .316 average. A utility player who has settled into right field for the Mountain Hawks, Lattanzio batted .360 with eight doubles and 16 RBI in league play.
Junior shortstop Emma Capetz was Lehigh's lone second team All-League selection. Now a two-time All-League performer, Capetz overcame an early season injury to bat .347 in 41 games for the Mountain Hawks. Ten of her 35 base hits went for extra bases, including six doubles, three triples and a home run. Capetz also drove in 17 runs while playing a steady shortstop.
The Mountain Hawks will host the Patriot League Tournament beginning Thursday at Kaufman Field. Lehigh will face Army in the first game of the tournament, with first pitch set for 12:05 p.m. The Mountain Hawks will be bidding to win their eighth Patriot League Tournament title in the last 11 years.
