Complete List: 88-player tryout pool

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following a standout freshman season, Lehigh women's lacrosse's Allison LaBeau has been named to the 88-player tryout pool for the 2014-15 U.S. Women's National Team, as announced by U.S. Lacrosse on Thursday. The tryouts will be held from June 13-15 at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Around half of those trying out are current college players as LaBeau is one of just four current Patriot Leaguers invited to try out, along with Jillian Horka of Boston University and Taryn VanThof and Maddison Lesher of Loyola.

The 2014 Patriot League Rookie of the Year and only freshman named first team All-Patriot League, LaBeau led the Mountain Hawks with 38 points behind 29 goals and nine assists. The Mountain Lakes, New Jersey native recorded 10 multi-goal games as a rookie, led by a career-high four goals at Colgate and at Boston University. LaBeau was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week following the Colgate game. She ended the season with multiple points in her final seven games. LaBeau also took the majority of Lehigh's draws and finished with 24 draw controls, 16 groundballs and seven caused turnovers.

After the three-day tryout, approximately 36-40 players will be selected to the 2014-15 U.S. Women's National Team, which will train as part of the lead-up to the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women's World Cup in Surrey, England. Ultimately, 18 players will represent the U.S. as the team goes for a third consecutive and eighth overall world title.

A total of 11 players from the squad that won gold at the 2013 FIL World Cup in Oshawa, Ontario, return to try out, including all-world performers in attackers Katrina Dowd, Lindsey Munday and Katie Rowan, defender Amber Falcone and goalkeeper Devon Wills. Among other World Cup returners are attacker Danielle Etrasco, midfielders Sarah Bullard, Caitlyn McFadden, Kelly Rabil and Katie Schwarzmann, and defender Jenn Russell. Additionally, nine players from the gold-medal winning 2011 U.S. Women's Under-19 Team will look to earn a spot on the senior team.

LaBeau helped lead Lehigh to its first Patriot League Tournament since 2011, finishing 4-4 in league play which included a big 12-11 double overtime win over Boston University on Apr. 5 to hand the Terriers their first-ever Patriot League defeat. In total, five players earned All-League honors. Lehigh was the only school other than Loyola to earn a major postseason award.
