Lauren Calabrese enters her fifth season as the head coach of the Lehigh women’s soccer program. Calabrese brings over 10 years of coaching experience, as well as the knowledge of what it takes to be a Lehigh student-athlete, having played for the women’s soccer team from 2003 to 2006.
Calabrese has played an important role in her athletes’ success at the Patriot League level. Under her leadership, she has helped coach and develop the 2022 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year (Corinne Lyght) and the 2023 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year (Ryelle Shuey). During her tenure, 12 student-athletes have earned All-Patriot League Honors. In her first season, she helped lead the Mountain Hawks to the Patriot League semifinals for the first time since 2018. Her overall record stands at 21-32-16 and 12-19-5 in Patriot League play.
The 2025 season was highlighted by Faith Dobosiewicz and Aminah Baruah earning third team All-Patriot League honors.
Prior to her time as the fifth head coach in Lehigh women’s soccer history, Calabrese spent the previous six seasons as associate head coach, helping the Mountain Hawks post a 40-42-15 overall record, including a 21-22-8 mark in Patriot League play. The team advanced to the league tournament in four of those six seasons. The three straight Patriot League Tournament appearances tied a program record (the other being during Calabrese’s playing days from 2004-06). The Mountain Hawks reached the title game in 2018 for the first time since 2010, when Calabrese served as a volunteer assistant coach on Lehigh’s staff.
In addition to her roles at Lehigh, Calabrese also held head coach and volunteer positions with Moravian Academy, FC LVU Lady Sonic (2014), and FC LVU Under 17 since 2009. She has also worked with Soccer Without Borders since 2009.
?Calabrese was an accomplished player at Lehigh, where she was a four-year starter and second-team All-League honoree in 2003. She is currently fifth in school history with 13 career assists, which included eight as a first-year in 2003. She was also a four-year member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
Calabrese graduated in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in English and earned her Master of Arts in Education (in 2011) and English (in 2013). Calabrese is also an adjunct professor in the English department at Lehigh.
She resides in the Lehigh Valley with her husband, Kyle Collina ‘06, and sons Tucker and Skyler.
