BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh volleyball team placed 13 student-athletes on the Patriot League’s Academic Honor Roll for the fall semester. The 13 Mountain Hawks were tops in the league, headed by sophomore Jade Van Streepan who posted a 3.82 grade-point average as an Environmental Engineering major.
Three-time Lehigh Scholar Athlete of the Year Amanda Clark earned a 3.26 GPA as a junior Biology major, in addition to her on-court accolades, she was also named to the Patriot League’s Academic All-Patriot League team in November.
Three Mountain Hawks earned the Dean’s List distinction after posting GPA’s greater than 3.6 for the fall semester. Along with Van Streepan, junior Environmental Studies major Dana Raber (3.67) and freshman Amy Matula (3.60), who is studying in Lehigh’s P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science, also earned the academic honor.
Also making the list was two-time Libero of the Year and second team All-Patriot League team Rachel Charles with a 3.29 GPA as an Earth and Environmental Science major. First team All-Patriot League selection Taylor Poole (3.34) earned the academic accolade as well, posting a 3.34 GPA as a senior Marketing major.
As a team, Lehigh made its 17th trip to the Patriot League Tournament this past fall, capping an impressive regular season with yet another postseason run, the second under head coach Bob Bertucci. Click here to check out the highlight video of the 2012 season.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports.
