BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Senior E’Lana Lemon broke Marjorie Grap’s Patriot League record for weekly awards after earning her 13th career Patriot League Female Field Athlete of the Week award. She continued to set personal records with an ECAC-qualifying toss of 18.16m in the weight throw at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational on February 1.
Lemon breaks Marjorie Grap’s record of 12 Patriot League weekly awards (2004-07) one week after tying the mark. It is her fourth consecutive week as the league’s top female field athlete and fifth this season which ties Grap’s records from the 2006-07 season in both categories. Lemon’s throw of 18.16m also eclipses her previous Patriot League-best of 18.10m set a week prior.
Her mark of 18.16m was good for 11th in the event as she competed against some of the best teams in the country, including No. 1 Clemson at the meet.
The Mountain Hawks will compete in their final meet before the Patriot League Championships on Friday, February 8 when they travel to the New York Armory to compete in the Lafayette Rider Winter Games.
