BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Twelve student-athletes on the Lehigh men’s soccer team have been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for the fall semester. Senior Taylor Sulmonetti, a two-time team Scholar Athlete of the Year recipient, topped Lehigh’s list with a 3.83 grade-point average as a Chemical Engineering major.

All three of Lehigh’s senior class was named to the Academic Honor Roll as senior Journalism major Cameron Omsberg made his third appearance, posting a 3.67 GPA as the team’s 2012 captain. Along with Sulmonetti and Omsberg, senior Matt Weaver earned his fourth appearance on the Patriot League’s Academic Honor Roll with a 3.54 GPA as a Global Studies major.

Six Mountain Hawk freshmen earned trips to the Honor Roll for the first time in their collegiate careers, while four members earned Lehigh University Dean’s List distinction after posting semester GPA’s higher than 3.6.

In November, Lehigh was honored with the NSCAA’s Academic Award, after posting a team GPA of higher than 3.0 as one of just 220 men’s teams across Division I, II and III for the third consecutive year. Both the men’s and women’s team earned the award, making Lehigh just one of 149 schools in the country to have both men’s and women’s teams honored.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports.
