BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men’s cross country team landed 15 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, announced Wednesday. The Mountain Hawks’ 15 members were second in the league, as Lehigh featured six juniors, three sophomores and six freshmen among the academic honorees.

Freshman Evan Hardy notched the top grade-point average, posting a perfect 4.00 in Lehigh’s P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science. Hardy was one of four Patriot League athletes to post a GPA of 4.00, joined by Navy sophomore Drew Calcagno, Army junior Kendall Ward and the 2012 Patriot League Men’s Cross Country Scholar Athlete of the Year Navy senior Chris Galvin.

Just behind Hardy was fellow freshman Danny Reilly who earned a 3.98, also in the college of engineering. Half of Lehigh’s Academic Honor Roll recipients earned Dean’s List distinctions with semester GPA’s of 3.6 or higher.

To be eligible for the honor roll, student-athletes must maintain a 3.2 GPA and be listed on the team roster.

In total, 88 Patriot League men’s cross country student-athletes were named to the sport’s Academic Honor Roll for the fall semester.
