BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After narrowly missing her fourth double-double with nine points and nine boards against Sacred Heart on December 20, freshman forward Kerry Kinek was named the Patriot League’s Rookie of the Week for the period ending on December 23. This marks the second time Kinek has received the Patriot League’s weekly award this season.
Kinek shot 30.0 percent from the field (3-of-10), including 1-for-2 from three-point land and went 2-for-2 from the charity stripe for her nine points. The Whitehall, Pa. native also worked hard on the glass, grabbing nine rebounds, four of which were offensive boards. Kinek played 31 minutes on the floor and continues to lead the Mountain Hawks in scoring (12.3 ppg) and rebounding (9.6 rbg).
Kinek also received the Rookie of the Week honor for the period ending on November 25 after averaging 14.4 ppg and 8.7 rbg over the three contests that week.
